It really is about types of sugar. Refined sugar doesn’t do much for you other than calories. Natural sugar such as found in fruit and vegetables, since it has minerals etc., is much more healthy. Cutting out sweets (refined) sugar causes no harm to anyone.

    Fastest Way to Lose Weight

By cutting down your sugar intake, you will experience fewer sugar crashes- sudden spikes in glucose levels in your blood-immediately followed by a much lower energy drop. Let’s compare.

Drinking lots of juice before a morning jog is a common habit in our U.S. culture. But did you know that juice, while it may be good for you, packs as much as 30 grams of sugar per serving? Be assured that at least 20 grams (2/3 of one ounce) of that serving comes from high fructose corn syrup. This syrup is a refined (man-made) sugar that impacts your bloodstream. While you might feel good for the first minute or two,
it can cause your heart to beat faster and make some short of breath (myself included). A crash is sure to follow any sugar spike.

Drinking orange juice with no sugar added, for example, has about 25 grams of carbohydrate, 8-14 grams of which are naturally occuring sugars. The sugar spike is less impacting on your blood stream, and your body uses the sugar more easily .

One’s best bet when fueling up their body is to eat more complex carbohydrates like whole grains, leafy green vegetables and beans. But, don’t make yourself suffer from a blander diet. You can still eat your favorite foods now and again.

Sugar runs down your immune system, so if you cut back on sugar you will likely have less colds.
