How can I make a fat free pie crust?

Ruba asked:

If you have made a fat free pie crust before and it worked, share the recipe please.

No pasting from websites unless the recipe was made once and worked well for the answerer.

Thanks
Wow, I never knew there is fat-free margarine….. I will search for that at the store.

I would like to hear more opinions on that.

i dont even think that is possible. you could try reducing the fat content. but there is always going to be fat in pastry…

besides, why would you want to make fat free pastry? doesnt that kind of defy the purpose? as pastry is also made from wheat… carbohydrates, the ‘other’ source of calories.

    Fat-free Pie Crust
    by: Butter Busters Cookbook

    Ingredients:
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 teaspoon salt, optional
    4 tablespoons fat-free margarine
    2 tablespoons cold water

    Directions:
Preheat oven to 475. Mix together all the ingredients. Stir with a fork until thoroughly mixed. Do not over-work the dough. Shape this mixture into a ball and place it between two pieces of wax paper that have been dusted with flour. Roll the pastry into a circle large enough to fit in a 9″ pie pan. Spray pan with a non-fat cooking spray. Arrange crust in pan. Cut off the edges that hang over. Prick the bottom with a fork. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before adding filling. If you are making a pie where the filling needs to be cooked with the shell, simply bake at 350F for 45 minutes or however long the recipe calls for. Work foil ove

Fat is what holds the crust together and makes it nice and fluffy/flakey, sorry but I don’t think there is a way to make it fat free.
