When I am tempted, I might start to go for something I know I shouldn’t have. And then I think…..No, I can;t have that….and find something else. Usually I never buy food I can;t have. That solves the problem. Everything I have I CAN eat. BUT when at a party and there are yummy things there….Well, I just stay away from that area and remember WHY I want to lose weight…Usually helps me…..BUT if you DO have something. JUST MAKE IT A LITTLE PIECE….and let it go at that. We all cheat. But don’t go overboard….literally. LOL
Don’t stuff yourself with it. Just a half of a candy bar……Tiny piece of cake…..Maybe a little handful of chips….But don’t EVER go back for more. If you do…Well, that trip to Mexico must NOT be so important for you to look good. Have fun..

    Losing weight without starving yourself

What keeps me focused is my high cholesterol…
Everytime I crave a Big Mac I remember and stop myself.

My goal is to get fit and look ripped like the guys in the Men’s Health magazines….my goal is to reach that in 1 year….
Make a plan a goal….that can help you stay motivated..

What I do besides working out is, I eat healthy all week then have ONE cheat meal at the end of the week like Pizza, cheeseburger, chocolate cake..etc.. but just one meal to keep my sanity.
then my healthy week starts again, so far so good.
    Hope this helps..

I have troubles with this — it hasn’t affected me yet so far as gaining weight, but I think I’m in a rut. Personally, I’m not overweight but I am trying to lean-up and build strength.

What stops me sometimes is thinking about all the things that make up that specific food. For example, when I think of pizza pops I think of chemicals (I’m sorry, but that’s what they smell like to me and to me that’s just part of being “processed”). When I think of cookies I think of refined sugar which is also “processed” and not in it’s natural state. When I think of chips I think of how gross I feel afterwards… you get the idea.

Before you begin to indulge, really STOP AND THINK about what your putting into your body and why — without excuses. Pay attention — if you already feel guilty about what you are ABOUT to do (cheat) then odds are you’ll only feel worse afterwards… is it worth it?

A trick I do is tell myself that if I really want it, I can always have it tomorrow, or the next week, etc. and I usually end up forgetting about it.

If you think you might be hungry, imagine a huge meal and if you would be able to eat THAT or not. If it turns you off, you’re probably not that hungry.

We all suffer from cravings. Next time you crave something, try going for something like a piece of fruit or gum, then do your best to wait 20 minutes — the craving just might pass.

    Good luck!

    Need to lose weight?

When you have a healthy diet already, it’s not hard to avoid cheating. For one thing, it’s ok to cheat once in a while if 90% of your diet is otherwise healthy.

If you avoid the traps that cause people to cheat, it makes it much easier. For one, eating more often throughout the day helps prevent cravings from simple hunger. Eating more often has been shown time and again to be the healthiest way to go – it keeps blood sugar and insulin levels steady, especially if the food is healthy and the diet is balanced. Also, eating wholesome fresh foods that you prepare yourself will always leave you with a more satisfied feeling. Additionally, if you don’t keep junk food around you all the time, the temptation to cheat really does reduce.

Habits also play a large part and can be challenging to break. So, if you’re used to going to Burger King for lunch every day or week, you’ll need to do something to replace that. A little dietary planning and preparation will solve this, if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Just remember that the human body is made to consume healthy foods grown from the ground and straight from animals, not processed stuff made in factories. Unfortunately, these days people eat for pleasure rather than function, or choose convenience over health. It just depends on what your priorities are, most of us have at least some idea what’s healthy, and there’s always time for good health.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
