    Want to lose weight?

You should be taking in an extra 300 calories each day to meet your nutritional needs and the baby’s. You aren’t really “eating for two,” despite the old saying.

You should be eating a sensible, balanced diet without worrying too much about weight gain (unless your doctor says it’s excessive). If you have a normal body weight now, you should plan to put on at least 35 pounds throughout your pregnancy.

    Need to lose weight?

eat only foods with high nutritional values. avois empty calories like potato chips, candy, cookies ect… they will add hard to rid fat to your body without nurushing you or your fetus.

also forget that “eating for two” nonsense… the fetus’s stomach is probably the size of a 1/4 teaspoon.

so eat healthy- a lot of fruits, vegetables, beans, some lean protien like chicken and avoid fatty, sweet foods.

you will then be fine after delivery.

    Metabolism and Your Weight

excercise and a sensible diet during pregnancy will help you feel better, stay fit for labor, and help your body bounce back after delivery. Also, breast feeding really helps. I burns lots of calories and makes your stomach go down qicker.

Lose weight now – Stay slim forever

Going by wht you are saying, women GET fat after having their babies. So then you don’t need to worry about what you eat while pregnant. But the fat gained during pregnancy is to help in breast milk production and is therefor a GOOD thing.

    Slim down – remove fat

A good healthy balanced diet with plenty of fruits and veg.
You ONLY need 300 extra cals in the last trimester and can get this from a glass of milk/ lump of cheese
There is no need to eat for two.
You can still excercise, (pregnancy yoga or swimming are very good)
You may still gain weight, everyone is different.

I know what your trying to ask, you should be careful not to “diet” but some women do over eat when they are pregnant. I would say, however, that the cause of women gaining so much extra weight is because they are less active, don’t exercise as much etc. When you are pregnant, you are exhausted, and it is hard to make yourself work out etc. I would say, eat a healthy diet. Your fist is a good portion size for all food groups and exercise.

This is my second baby, I have gained 28 lbs, which is healthy and I am due next week. I have worked out 5 days a week since I have been pregnant and everyone sayes I am all belly. With my first son, I did the same and lost my weight very quickly. But be patient, it isn’t a week, it is more like 2 months to lose that little extra weight!

Stay active that is the key!! Resist the couch potatoe life style

    Slim down – remove fat

As someone who delivered 18 weeks ago, and ate well/exercised throughout my pregnancy, I can tell you…there WILL be extra pounds.
    But so what?
A pregnant/nursing woman needs to be concerned with what is good for her child rather than what is good for her own ego/image.
Only a doctor — not society, “friends”, or a spouse/partner — should be concerned with a mother’s weight.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to haul my fat ass into the other room to nurse my perfect, healthy baby.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
